Roger Gerard Darisse, 66, of East Tawakoni, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at his home. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 1:00PM at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan, TX. Roger was very loyal and devoted to his family and his country.
He started his electrical company in 1982, which led him to travel the world promoting his company. His products are in Air Force 1, Pentagon, Twin Towers, Chicago Board and Trade, and different military bases as well as many other places world-wide, the success of his business includes the dedication and skill of his special son-in-law Monty Chambliss of Quinlan, Texas. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, car shows and visiting Galveston.
After he semi-retired he moved to the lake to relax. He still worked remotely from home. He loved family get-togethers and holiday times.
A cradle and lifelong Catholic apologist, Roger was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Emory, TX. Charter member and current Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 16078 and Fourth Degree Sir Knight of Father Joe Dean Assembly 3324. He was a lifetime member of the American Veterans (AMVETS) Post 36, West Tawakoni, TX where he thoroughly enjoyed the best steak on the Lake on Friday evenings and VFW Post 3559 Garland, TX.
He also was a member and former Commander of the American Legion Post 517 family in West Tawakoni, TX. His hobbies included boating, collecting cigars, avid gun collector, he restored cars, and was a boat owner. He was a member of the American Legion Riders.
He enjoyed helping other vets. He loved riding his motorcycle with his wife Sheila, whom he taught to ride her own motorcycle, and each of them earned their “Iron Butt” patch, riding over 1,000 miles in less than 24 hours. He traveled as often as he could, he loved doing practical jokes to family and friends and certainly liked to “stir the Pot” amongst the women and kids.
Roger was born in Salem, MA and moved to Dallas, TX. as an infant and grew up on White Rock Lake, graduating from Bryan Adams High School. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Sheila; his mother Elsie Darisse of Campbell, TX; daughters Jenny Darisse of Lone Oak; Jessica Mills of Rockwall; Alexandria Kalldin of Lawton, OK; Danielle Darisse of Denver, CO.
; step-daughter Saybrah Phillips of West Tawakoni; brother John Anthony Darisse of Campbell; Weston (his dog that loved him); ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by father, Roger Darisse and brother Kenneth Ray Darisse.
