Schenectady – Roland J. (Rollie) Supley, 84, was born February 6, 1934 in Schenectady to Prosper and Cynthia Supley. He graduated from Nott Terrace High School in 1953, “Hot Rod Roland” was known for his dimples, blue eyes and artistic talents. In his early years he worked for State Theatre and DeMarco’s Pizza.

He was an Airmen First Class in the Air Force 38th Air Division. He retired from Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in 1993 as Union Leader of the IUE AFL-CIO, to pursue his fisherman dreams and spend quality time with his second favorite German fat blonde, Dixie. He enjoyed building derby cars for the soap box derby, fishing, skiing, streaking, every type of car racing, building remote control cars, camping, boating, socializing with the neighbors, chasing grandkids, mothering feral cats and kittens.

He was the original Neighborhood Watch which enabled him to react and save the tenants next door from a fire in 1998. He was the first one to offer help to someone in need in any way he possibly could. As a landlord, his house work was never done.

Planting, painting, fixing, raking, snow removal from the whole block and bailing buckets of water after the January thaw. He had to be the undocumented author of “Bad Dad Jokes” What starts with F and ends with K? Firetruck.

He was predeceased by his wife Diane Supley, his son Robert John Geloso, brothers Walter, Robert, Paul, and his infant twin brother Richard. He is survived by his daughters Stephanie Supley, his favorite Heather (Richard) Lanaro, his pain in the ass Crystal (James)Hiscock, Lori (David)Girard, and Darlene Geloso. Grandchildren James Sheppard III, R. Stephan Sheppard, Giovanni Lanaro, Gabriella Lanaro, Hope Hiscock, Ryan Hiscock, David (Adele)Girard III, Nicole (Frank) Rapp, Bridget (Mike) Craver, Kyle (Ashlee) Girard and a boatload of great grandchildren.

Sisters Marie Justen, Lois (Doug) DeKalb, Aunt Cynthia DaMassa, and shit ton of nieces and nephews whom he loved as his own. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 9-11 am at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave. , Rotterdam.

An 11 am funeral service will immediately follow. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help kids be kids to Pioneer Bank Foundation 652 Albany-Shaker Rd.
