Ronald Keith Goldman, 80, went to be with the Lord on the morning of Friday, May 25, in Beeville amongst the company of his closest family. “Ronnie” is most fondly remembered for the love he possessed for his family, passion for aiding its youth, his community, and, most importantly, his unwavering faith in the Lord Jesus. Ronnie was born on April 16, 1938, in Jourdanton, Texas to Sterling and Margaret Goldman.

He felt the strength of his spiritual convictions very early in life and gave his heart to Jesus as a young boy. Ronnie graduated from Poteet High School as Salutatorian in 1956; he went on to pursue a degree in Agriculture at Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas, and advanced with honors in 1960. It was during his college tenure that he met his wife, Jeanie Webb, daughter of John and Evelyn Webb from Bishop, Texas.

Ronnie proceeded to enlist in the United States Army and served for 2 years until being honorably discharged with a rank of Captain in 1962. Shortly thereafter, he began his most memorable career as a biology teacher, Varsity basketball and football coach at Sinton High School. He devoted 10 years of his life coaching and mentoring young boys and young men in the Sinton Little League and Senior League Baseball Programs.

Also, during this time, he and Jeanie spent 25 years involved in various youth programs within the First Baptist Church of Sinton; he proudly served as a Baptist Deacon for over 50 years. Upon his retirement from education, Ronnie managed three grain elevators within the area and very much enjoyed the comradery he established with local farmers and their families. Ronnie is survived by his wife, Jeanie Goldman; three children, Cheryl Goldman, Ronald (Connie) Goldman, Jr., and Shana Austin; five grandchildren, Erika (Hutchison) Franklin, John Goldman, Ronald Goldman III, Ryne Austin, and Trent Hipp; brothers Doyle Goldman and Roy (Mary) Goldman; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sterling and Margaret Goldman. The Goldman family will not be in attendance for the visitation on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. The family will be in attendance for visitation Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Sinton.
