Ronald “Ronnie” D. Burton, age 71, of Sidney, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2018, surrounded by the three loves of his life, wife Barbara (Baker) Burton and two children, Shelly Burton Schulz and Alyssa (Frank) Shuber. He was born March 23, 1947 in Sidney, to Sylvester and Clarcie (Wood) Burton. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Burton.

Ronald is also survived by his grandchildren, Barrett Schulz, Liam Shuber and Scarlett Shuber. He was a 1965 graduate of Sidney High School. Ronnie retired from General Dynamics Land Systems after 35 years of faithful service.

During the 80’s and 90’s, he was a custom home builder for R.B. Construction and was known for his Christmas light displays. He loved hot rods, muscle cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was a coach for the Sidney Electric girl’s softball league and was known for playing softball games in the 70’s.

He was a member of the Sidney High School football chain gang. He was also a member of the Eagles and VFW lodges in Sidney. He loved his two German shepherd dogs, Panzer and Lexa.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Ronald’s memory. The staff of Adams Funeral Home has been entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
