Ronnie Joe Ford, 56, joined his Lord and Savior on May 9, 2018, in the company of family at the Kansas City Veterans Administration Medical Center. Ronnie was born on December 5, 1962 to Ruby McIntyre and Robert Godfrey in Kansas City, Missouri at the General Hospital No. 2 (currently known as Truman Medical Center).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby McIntyre and Robert Godfrey and grandmother, Louise McIntyre. Ronnie attended and graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri, where he played football and was a member of their Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program. After completing high school, Ronnie joined the United States Army and served as a Private First Class (PFC).

He attended Fayetteville Technical College in Fayetteville, North Carolina. After returning to Kansas City, Ronnie joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and served as an Usher. Ronnie was well known for his mannerism, obliging, amusing and no-nonsense personality.

His hobbies and favorites included sports, playing dominoes, collecting hats, visiting amusement parks and going to the movies and being well known as the “Man of Fashion”. His favorite sport teams were the Los Angeles Lakers, Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs, Charlotte Hornets and the Carolina Panthers. Ronnie Joe Ford leaves to cherish his memories, two brothers Jessie Ford (Carla) and Fred McIntyre; two children, Danielle Robinson and Barron Robinson of North Carolina; a niece, Jessica Ford; two nephews, Skylar Ford and Jasper Ford; an aunt, Carrie Turner; and a host of loving and caring family members which include, the Bradleys, Millers, Taylors, Turners and friends.

His greatest wish is that those who loved and cared for him to continue to love unconditionally. Funeral Service for Ronnie Joe Ford will be held Saturday, May 19, 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 4733 Elmwood Avenue. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Church.

Interment, Brooking Cemetery.
