Obituary for Mr. Ronnie ‘Soapy’ Solesbee James “Ronnie” Cread Solesbee, Jr., 72, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at his home. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 23, 2018, at Center Cross Baptist Church Cemetery, Asheboro, with Pastor Grant Hoffman officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

Mr. Solesbee was born in Randolph County, NC, on January 10, 1946. He served in the US Marine Corps during Vietnam. He was a surveyor and loved being outside in the woods and looking for arrowheads.

He enjoyed watching football and NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his father, James Solesbee; stepfather, Garland Cole; and sisters, Jeanette Solesbee and Vickie Lambeth. Surviving are his daughters, Ronnette Solesbee and boyfriend, Dennis Welborn, of Asheboro, Rena Solesbee, of Siler City; son, Eddie Conner, of Los Angeles, CA; mother, Thelma Cole, of Asheboro; sisters, Wanda Taylor and husband, George, of Greensboro, Gwendolyn Freeman, Asheboro; brother, Carson Hurley, of Summerfield; grandchildren, Kread Solesbee, Aresia Poindexter, Jason Poindexter, Daniel Reyes, Jaime Reyes, all of Asheboro; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Center Cross Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, 1789 Center Cross Church Road, Asheboro, NC 27205. Upcoming Events Service DEC 23.
