Rosalie Shouse August 05, 1928 – February 27, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Rosalie (Rehmert) Shouse, 90, of Parsons, passed away at 9:32 a.m., Wednesday, February 27, 2019, surrounded by her family. She was born August 5, 1928, in Jetmore, Kansas, to George F. Rehmert and Lela M. (Beeney) Rehmert. She moved with her family to St. Paul in 1936.

She attended elementary school at Valley School in Neosho County and then attended St. Paul High School. She first began working at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant and later at the Katy Hospital in Parsons. She and Glen D. Shouse were married on December 20, 1947, in Erie.

They owned and operated a sawmill in St. Paul from 1954 to the mid 1960’s. She then worked at Bush Hog in Galesburg, Kansas until retiring. Mr. Shouse preceded her in death on November 19, 1996.

Her passions were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed music, gardening, working in the yard, fishing, reading, and picking up pecans. She was a member of the former Erie Christian Center in Erie.

Survivors include: Six sons: Richard Shouse and his wife, Juanita, of Parsons Dennis Shouse and his wife, Kathy, of McCune Darrell Shouse and his wife, Marsha, of McCune Terry Shouse of Parsons Chris Shouse and his wife, Teresa, of Frontenac Gary Shouse and his wife, Judy, of Parsons Five Daughters: Glenda Beckwith and her husband, Kenneth, of Galesburg Cheryl McClenning and her husband, Ronald, of Parsons Judy Butler and her husband, Joe, of Walnut Jane Hastings and her husband, Bill of Frontenac Janet Leech and her husband, Pat, of Parsons 32 Grandchildren 60 Great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glen, a daughter Lila Shouse, daughter-in-law Beth (Sager) Shouse, one grandson, Tim Beckwith, four brothers – Fred Rehmert, Verle Rehmert, Noland Rehmert, Justin Rehmert and one sister – Viola (Rehmert) Johnson. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2019 at the McCune Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8: 00 p.m., Thursday at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. These may be left at or mailed to the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, Kansas 67357.
