Rosemary L. Kahle, age 84 of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away peacefully on November 16, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born on March 16, 1934 in Toledo, Ohio to Walter W. & Clementine (Herman) Reas. Rosemary married Charles F. Kahle on February 2, 1957 in Defiance, OH.
Rosemary was employed as an RN and was the first graduating class of B.S.N (Nursing) at St. Louis University. She then earned her Master’s in Education from the University of Toledo and was employed… Read More » at Mercy Hospital as an instructor of Medical Surgical Nursing from 1956-1957; then the University of Kansas as an instructor and Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medical Surgical Nursing from 1958-1962. Rosemary also worked for Wood County Hospital from 1965-1970 in the emergency room; Medical surgical nursing and as a substitute instructor at the Wood County Practical Nurse School.
From 1970-1975, she was employed at St. Charles Hospital where she worked on Staff Development, Operating Room, taught pharmacology courses to LPN’s and developed orientation programs for new graduates. Rosemary developed nursing skills lab for MCO and BGSU. She was an instructor and Assistant Professor for the Medical College of Ohio, where she served as the Director of the Learning Re Center and Technical Services Coordinator.
She retired in 1995. Rosemary received the 1986 Outstanding Faculty Member Award. Her memberships included the Quilt Foundry Guild, Appliqué Addicts, Gathering of Quilters, and Piecemakers.
Rosemary is survived by her children, Charles F. II (Ann), Thomas E., Suzanne K. (Ralph) Haefner, David J., Steven W., Sarah E. (Trevor) Lockyer; grandchildren, Mary Ann, Elizabeth, Cameron, Justin, Eric, Katie, Alex, Hannah, Madeline, Claire and Frances; great-grandchildren, Willow, Declan and Naomi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charles and brother, Herman W. Reas. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many, she will be dearly missed.
The family would like to thank Rosemary’s dearest friend and quilting buddy, Kelly Jackson for her unwavering love, care and friendship and the doctors, nurses and volunteers at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg for their outstanding care mom received in her last days. The Funeral Mass will be held at Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 217 E. Front St, Perrysburg, Ohio. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Maumee.
