Obituary for Roy D. Taylor Roy Davis Taylor, 65, of Hulbert, Oklahoma was born January 7, 1953 in Fort Gibson, OK to James and Mary (Upton) Taylor and passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 in Wagoner, OK. Roy was one of 15 children, he was born the 14th child. Roy was raised in Fort Gibson where he also received his education.

Roy worked as a carpenter that led him thru numerous states from Arizona to Florida. Some say he was one of the best wood craftsmen there was. Roy enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Roy was the father of 4 boys – Michael, Jerry, Roger & Josh – AKA the Tator Boys. He was preceded in death by his parents; James and Mary Taylor; brothers, Sam, Henry, Johnny and Clifford Taylor; sisters, Mildred Close, Rosie Kisner, Oma Puckett, Marie Raper and Nancy Taylor. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons; Michael Taylor and wife Patricia of Fort Gibson, Jerry Taylor and his wife Melanie of Eufaula, Roger Taylor of North Carolina and Josh Taylor of Fort Gibson; brothers, Willie Taylor of Fort Gibson, James Taylor of Fort Gibson, Jimmie Taylor and his wife Barbara of Broken Arrow; sisters, Bess Yandell of Fort Gibson and Susie Carter of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Leah & Tyler, Sarah & Grady, Shelby & Donald, Trapper, Fisher, Scout, Reed, Elizabeth & Gary, Carson and Maggie; and 6 great grandchildren.

A family conducted memorial service celebrating Roy’s life will be 11:30AM Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Fort Gibson Community Center. The family of Roy Davis Taylor has entrusted his cremation to Clifford D. Garrett Family Funeral Home, Fort Gibson 918-478-2555.
