Obituary for Edgar Elledge Edgar Geryl Elledge, 73, of Fort Gibson was born December 23, 1944 in Pasadena, Texas to Edgar and Ulys (Johnston) Elledge and claimed his mansion in Heaven on Friday, June 8, 2018 in Muskogee surrounded by his family. Ed grew up in Texas where he attended school and moved to Fort Gibson in 1980. He joined the United States Army on September 27, 1963 in Oklahoma City and received an honorable discharge on September 17, 1966 in Afton, OK.

He was a specialist V medic who proudly served in Vietnam. Ed met and later married the love of his life Bertha (Lindsey) on February 4, 1967 in Rowlett, TX. Ed worked as a journeyman in the construction field.

He attended North American School of Conservation and received a certification of completion October 1968. Ed was a member of Fort Gibson First Baptist Church. Ed is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Haskell Elledge; sisters, Betty Cox, Mary Jane Deal and Dorothy Kirkendall.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bertha of the home; daughters, Michele Mortensen and husband David of Zachary, LA and Sarena Nelson and husband Steve of Park Hill, OK; sons, Sheldon R. Elledge and wife Carol of Greenwell Springs, LA, Shannon Elledge and wife Brigitte of Enid, OK; granddaughter, Jesse Elledge of Enid, OK; grandsons, Sam Wooley of Grants Pass, OR, Sheldon J. Elledge and wife Chelsea of Denham Springs, LA, Joe Nelson of Park Hill, OK Casey Elledge of Enid, OK and sister, Velma Huibregtse of Washington. A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home with family receiving friends 5PM-7PM.

Funeral services are 12PM Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in the Fort Gibson First Baptist Church with Pastor Don Blankenship officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at 2PM in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Joe Nelson, Josh Hamby, Sam Wooley, Art Crittenden, Robert Allmon and Terry Allmon serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers are Steve Nelson, Casey Elledge, Shannon Elledge and Sheldon R. Elledge.
