Obituary for James Carl Whitehead James Carl Whitehead, 39, of Fort Gibson was born January 19, 1979 in Muskogee, OK to Jim and Ginger (Rowan) Whitehead and passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018 in Fort Gibson, OK. James graduated from Fort Gibson High School in 1997. He currently worked for Circle K Escort as a driver for the last 5 years.

He married the love of his life, Rebecca Stewart on October 20, 2007 in Fort Gibson, OK. James was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Gibson, OK. James loved spending time with his kids and fishing for catfish on the Arkansas river.

He was an avid OU football fan. James was preceded in death by his grandparents; Carl and Mae Rowan, Floyd Whitehead and Billy Duke; uncles, Mike and Randy Whitehead and cousin, Drew Allen. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife; Rebecca of the home; sons, Tyler, Garrett and Jacen Whitehead of Fort Gibson; parents; Jim and Ginger Whitehead of Fort Gibson; brothers, Billy Whitehead, Ricky Whitehead and wife Ashley all of Fort Gibson, Jamie Whitehead and wife Holly of Tulsa; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

A visitation will be held Monday, August 20, 2018 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson with family receiving friends 5PM-7PM. A celebration of James’ life will be 10AM Tuesday, August 21, 2018 in the Fort Gibson First Baptist Church with, Pastor Don Blankenship and Brother Butch Cook officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in the Citizens Cemetery in Fort Gibson with Jimmy Rowan Sr., Jimmy Rowan Jr., Berry Rowan, Andy Ballard, Damon Donahue, Joe Phillips and Tommy Tackett serving as casket bearers.

Honorary Casket Bearers are Bryan Reyes and Joey Meissner.
