Obituary for Jim D. Brazear Jimmy (Jim) Doyne Brazear, 77, of Tahlequah, OK was born May 21,1941 in Conway, AR to Julian and Willa Mae (Duncan) Brazear and peacefully passed away June 29, 2018 in Broken Arrow, OK with his family by his side. Jim grew up in Conway where he attended school. He joined the United States Army on June 20, 1961 where he served in the 806 Engineering Co and received an Honorable Discharge on January 31,1967 with a rank of SP5.

On September 15, 1962 he married his best friend Barbara Strack and they lived in Arkansas and Oklahoma with the last 18 years in Tahlequah. He started his career with Sunoco Oil as a dispatcher where he worked until his retirement in 1999. His family remember him loving rock-n-roll, Corvettes, hunting and fishing.

Jim was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Tahlequah and was often found donating his time at the CARE Food Pantry in Tahlequah. Jim is preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Barbara of the home; daughters, Elizabeth Nordholm of Broken Arrow, OK, Bridgitt Menz of Norman, OK, Belinda Brazear of Tulsa, OK; granddaughters, Renee Nordholm of Tulsa, OK, Kaytlin Menz and Kelsey Menz of Norman, OK; brother Gary Brazear of North Little Rock, AR, extended family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in Jim’s name to the CARE Food Pantry 220 N. Muskogee Ave Tahlequah, OK 74464. A visitation will be held Monday, July 2, 2018 with family receiving friends 5PM-7PM at the Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson, OK. A graveside service celebrating Jim’s life will be held 1:00PM Tuesday, July 3, 2018 in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Mr. Jerry Strack officiating.

Military honors will be observed. Casket bearers are Jerry Strack, Joe Strack, Rick Strack, Richard Nordholm, Matt Brazear, Brooks Brazear and Renee Nordholm. The family of Jim D. Brazear has entrusted his services and burial to Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home, Fort Gibson.
