Roy Anderson Hagood, born March 10, 1932, passed away on January 27, 2019, at Hawkins County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Roy was a lifetime resident of Rogersville and was a member of the First Christian Church. He was a Naval veteran of the Korean War.

He was a 50 year member of Overton Lodge # 5 F and AM and was Superintendent of the Rogersville Water Department. Roy was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was known for his woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Eliza Hagood; brothers, Heiskell (Pauline), Raymond (Versanoa); sisters, Ruth (Stanley) Greene, Mary (Bud) Hamblen, Helen (Maurice) Greer. He is survived by his wife of sixty one years, Patsy; children, Brance (Regina) Hagood and Glen Hagood, all of Rogersville; grandchildren, Matthew (Olivia) Hagood of Knoville, Kristen (Grant) Morgan, and Ethan (Krissy) Hagood of Rogersville; great grandson, Abel Hagood; brothers, Clinton (Aileen) and Edward Hagood; sister-in-law, Edith “Chug” Peeples. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Hawkins County Humane Society at 5180 US-11W, Rogersville, TN 37857.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with Minister Steve Newhouse officiating. Burial will follow in McKinney Cemetery.
