Royce Edwin Gentry Jr. passed away on May 24, 2018, at his home after an extended hospital stay. Royce was born on May 26, 1961 in Dallas County, to Royce Gentry Sr., and Jimmie Tennyson. Roy, (Eddie), Gentry was a 1979 graduate of McArthur High School, in Irving Texas.

For several years he served as the President of the Grapevine Pee Wee Football program. Following high school, Roy worked at G.P. Plastics from 1979-1989, then life took him into the corrugated box business, where as a salesman, he made a multitude of friends around the country. His outgoing personality, sense of humor, and insistence on excellent customer service engendered loyalty from his customers, and often frustration from production. Roy was preceded in death by his mother, Jimmie Hartman, his stepfather, Paul Hartman, and his brother Russell Gentry.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Gentry, father Royce Gentry Sr., sisters Debra Gentry and Mary Alice Gentry. Children Jessica Gentry, Jason Gentry, Taron Shelley and husband Chris Bussey, Shawn Staggs and wife Amanda, Ryan Staggs, and Natalie Staggs. Nine grandchildren: Kade, Cassidy, Evan, Leah, Sadie, Caleb, Rylea, Ryan Jr., and Jennalee.

There will be a Memorial Service to celebrate his life Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 2 PM, in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home located at 1826 W. Hwy 287 Business Waxahachie, Texas. In Lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to Ellis County SPCA, Lone Star Dog Rescue, or Streets to Sheets, or even better, if you can, please adopt a dog who needs someone to love. The arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
