Obituary for Mrs. Rubye Carter Lee Mrs. Lee was born October 30, 1936, in Broken Bow, OK, to Flossie Mae Amos, and President Carter, Sr She was called home to be with the Lord on August 15, 2018. Her spouse is Henry Ronald Lee.

Her sisters are: Earnestine Cherry (deceased); Opalene Mitchell (deceased); Scarlett Henderson; and Patricia Hearne. Her deceased brothers are: Albert Jordan, Arthur Jordan, Willie Jordan, Clarence Pennington, Johnnie B. Carter, and Herman Carter. The living brothers are: James E. Carter; President Carter, Jr., and Sidney D. Carter.

Mrs. Lee’s daughters are: Sheryle Portis (Dennis), and Valerie Lee. The son, Henry Ronald Lee, Jr., is deceased. Mrs. Lee graduated from Dunbar High School and attended Langston University.

She was an Administrative Assistant with the Oklahoma City Public School System. Mrs. Lee was a loving mother, devoted wife, and Granny to every youth that walked through the door. She was “Momma Rubye” to many and never met a stranger – always willing to help any and everybody she could.

She and “the love of her life” truly cared for and maintained the beautiful flowers and trees in the yard. It was evident that they cared for God’s creations every day. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
