Ruth Ann Ransom, 80, of Columbus and Zanesville, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018. Ruth was born July 18, 1938 to the late Ralph H. and Marian M. (Singer) Ransom. In addition to her parents, Ruth is also preceded in death by her son, Robbie; a sister, Naomi; and brothers, Howard and Jeffrey Ransom.

Ruth leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Stephanie “Jo” Murray, Tony (Tammy) Murray Charlton, Felicia Reid, Angelo Gibson, Johnathan “Kelly” Newman, Franco Gibson, Stacy Charlton, and Tracy Charlton; siblings, Michael Ransom and Sarah Babb; 24 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of many other family and friends. Ruth was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to cook for herself and others.

She known to have music playing in her home. Ruth was an avid collector of all things related to elephants. She will be deeply missed.

You may call on the family Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m., with funeral service to follow at 1 p.m., at Burrell Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
