Ruth Daniel Thrower of Haines City, Florida passed away on January 31, 2019. She was 98. She was born on October 27, 1920 to John Marvin and Fannie Williamson Daniel in Luverne, Alabama and moved to Haines City in 1939 from there.

Ruth was a co-owner of L & R trucking, of Haines City, with her husband for some 25 years, retiring around 1979. She was an active member of Faith Temple Assembly of God in Haines City, in fact she and her husband were founding members. Ruth wore many hats at the church, she was a Sunday school teacher, the bookkeeper, as well as the secretary for the Sunday school classes.

In her spare time some of Ruth’s interests included sewing and gardening, being remembered as having a true “green thumb”. She is predeceased by her parents; husband, Leroy Thrower; siblings, Otis Leverett, Ella Elliott, Hubert Daniel, Earl Daniel, Hazel Walker, Jean Bowen and Raymond Daniel. Ruth is survived by her son, Jessie Throwers; daughters, Carolyn Willis and Connie Wilkinson; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be Monday, February 4, 2019 from 2 pm until the funeral at 3 pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Final resting place will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Memorials may be made to Haines City Health Care or Cornerstone Hospice.
