Ruth Ellen’s Obituary Ruth Ellen Booth was born on April 22, 1939, in Washington Township, Henry County Ohio the oldest child of Clifford and Meredith (Heckler) Booth. On January 25, 1958, she married the love of her life, William Claire Bowser, in Bowling Green, Ohio. He preceded her in eternal life, on May 2, 2000.

She joined him in that better place, on February 2, 2019, passing away quietly at home in her sleep. Ruth worked for many years at the Grand Rapids Nursing Home as an aide, retiring in the late 1990’s to travel and spend time with her husband. She loved going to Alanson, MI, camping and fishing, mushroom hunting, and enjoyed the fall colors.

She enjoyed Civil War History and country music. In later years, she loved to shop and loved finding a bargain at any of the local Goodwill stores with her cousin, Sharon Boyd. Evenings would find her visiting with her friend, Donna Peterson at her kitchen table.

Ruth was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, in Grand Rapids, Ohio She is survived by her son, William V (Joy) Bowser and daughter Beth (William) Richardson, both of Liberty Center, OH. Grandchildren: Michael (Carol) Anderson, Millgrove, OH; Matthew (Leigh Anne) Anderson, Woodstock, GA; Rebecca (Ryan) Richards, Bucyrus, OH; Sarah (Josh) Oberhaus, Napoleon, OH; Valerie (James) Norris, Liberty Center, OH; Angela Richardson, Frostburg, Maryland; and Jessica Richardson, Maumee, Ohio. She was the great grandmother of 18 great-grandchildren.

Also, surviving is a brother Daniel (Carol) Booth of Grand Rapids, along with several nieces and nephews; an uncle Bill Heckler, and two aunts: Donna and Geri Heckler. She is also survived by brother-in-law Dick (Carol) Bowser and sisters-in-law Grace Bowser and Ida Booth. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother John Booth.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Calvary United Methodist Church, 24362 3rd Street, Grand Rapids, Ohio. Inurnment at Beaver Creek Cemetery will immediately follow. Memorial Contributions in Ruth’s honor may be gifted to the Calvary United Methodist Church, 24362 Third Street, Grand Rapids, Ohio 43522.
