Ruth Irene Osten, 78 of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at the UTMC (MCO) Hospital. She was born in Mt. Vernon, Ohio on February 16, 1940, to Hoy and Irene Reed.

She was a 1958 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School where she was a cheerleader and Homecoming Queen. She attended the University of Toledo.

Ruth worked for Owens Corning Fiberglass as a Secretary for 22 years and then she started working for Owens-Illinois as an Administrative Secretary for 10 years, retiring… Read More » in 2000. She was preceded in death by her parents Hoy and Irene Reed. Ruth is survived by her loving and caring husband, Richard R. Osten, and sister Carolyn Forbush and Ruth’s children, Shawn L. (Mickey) Reiter and David J. Benner, grandchildren Dana I. (Justine) Guerrero.

Stepchildren Thad M. (Beth) Osten, Shay H. Kennedy and Brynn C. Burr. Step Grandchildren Kathryn and Carson Osten. Ruth enjoyed reading and going to garage sales, flea markets and Antique shows looking to add more BEAUTIFUL POTTERY to her large collection and all forms of Chot-ski, which she truly enjoyed and the friendships that were made.

. The family will received friends on Sunday, December 30th from 1-3 PM at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, where a Memorial Services will be held a t 3 PM. Intermant will take place privately at Toledo Memorial Park.
