Obituary for Ruth Montieth Ruth Montieth, 99, of Fort Dodge passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Bickford Cottages in Fort Dodge. Ruth’s wish was to be cremated with interment at the Crossroads Cemetery, Plano, IA at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted with Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Ruth was born in Brandon, CO on February 11, 1919 to Allen and Sylvia (White) Cochran. She grew up in the Centerville, IA area and graduated from Plano High School. She was united in marriage to Wayne Montieth on February 11, 1942.

She was a member of the Rolfe United Methodist Church. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed gardening and flowers. She loved spending time with and taking care of her family.

Ruth is survived by her children Sandra (Tom) Hovey of Badger, IA, Wayne (Peggy) Montieth of Colorado Springs, CO and Ron (Betsy) Montieth of Olathe, KS; 4 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne; her parents Allen and Sylvia and her 10 siblings. Memorials may be left to a local food bank or Unity Point Hospice in Fort Dodge.
