Ruth E. Sereno , 90, of Parkersburg passed away Thursday July 5, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her children. She was born on February 13, 1928 in Middleport, OH a daughter of the late Cecil and Zetta (Durst) Boyd. Ruth was a seamstress for many years and worked at Singers, Stone and Thomas, and lastly Hornor and Harrison.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Ruth is survived by two sons Michael Sereno (Dena) and Joseph Sereno (Mindy) all of Parkersburg; two daughters Brenda Piggott (Mike) and Peggy Perkinson (Dave) all of Parkersburg; six grandchildren Adam and Aaron Sereno, Kyle Perkinson (Christina), Kayla Saville (Ben), Cara Holbert (Dale), and Andrew Piggott (Tara); four step grandchildren Chris, Lacey, Allison, and Jillian; and two great grandchildren Hannah and Haley Holbert. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bernard Sereno, infant son Bernard Joseph Sereno, brother Joe Boyd, and sister Reva Taylor.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 9, 2018, 11:00 am at St. Francis Xavier Church with Father John Rice as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 8, 2018, 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice and especially Victoria Nichols for their love and care.
