S. David “Dave” Saban, age 68, of Crystal Lake, passed away Friday, October 5, 2018, at JourneyCare in Woodstock, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 8, 1949 in Woodstock to Steven and Deloras (nee Ashum) Saban. On June 13, 1987, he was united in marriage with Judy A. (nee Pingleton) Lamz.

A lifelong resident of Crystal Lake, Dave graduated from Crystal Lake Central High School. He received his B.S. degree in Business and his M.S. degree in Education from… Read More » Western Illinois University in Macomb. He was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity.

Dave was an avid sports fan, and especially loved his Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf, traveling, going to see his beloved Cubs play and spending time with his family and friends. He was very loved, and will be missed by all that were fortunate to have been a part of his life.

Dave is survived by his wife of 31 years, Judy; two step-sons, Jason (Rachel) Lamz and Jeremy (Karen) Lamz; grandchildren, Mercedes Watson, Rocco Marcadante and Cody Lamz; his siblings, Susie (Lee) Randall, Mark (Mary) Saban, and Marysue (Jerry) Justin; nieces and nephews and many long-time friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of life gathering is being planned by his family for a later date.
