East Liverpool, Ohio – Barbara McEldowney, 96, of Calcutta formerly of Newell passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Calcutta Health Care Center following a brief illness. Barbara was born in East Liverpool on August 18, 1922 a daughter of the late Howard W. and Reita T. (Sleven) Roush. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Charles E. McEldowney; granddaughter Beverly Paige Geer; son-in-law Paul Bontempt Jr. and two sisters Frona Seitz and Patsy O’Hara.

Surviving are her daughter Sue Bontempt of Calcutta; son George V. (Jill) Marsh of Canyon Lake, TX; sister Mary Jane Pickens of East Liverpool; brother Howard “Bill” (Ann) Roush of Chelsea, MI; four grandchildren Paul Bontempt III, Timothy Jason Bontempt, Melissa Andres and Barbara Jean (Scott) Galbraith; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. A private service was held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Dawson Funeral Home.
