Salvatore “Sam” Palazzola, 75 Kearney resident Sam Palazzola, 75, of Kearney died Monday, March 4, 2019 at the Kearney Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, March 8, 2019 at the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. The family requests casual attire.

Inurnment will take place at Kearney Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Condolences may be shared online at www.

osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services. Sam was born on July 4, 1943 in Los Angeles, California to Phillip and Santina (Danna) Palazzola.

He grew up in Los Angeles and received his education from Westchester High School. He worked for Eaton Corporation for over 30 years. Sam was united in marriage to Kathleen Richards on January 20, 1968 in Gardenia, California.

The couple lived in Hawthorne, California and Redondo Beach California, before returning to Nebraska in 1973. He was a member of the Grand Island R.C. Model Club. He loved camping, fishing and boating.

His hobbies included flying R.C. Model Airplanes, spending time with Eaton retirees and cooking spaghetti and meatballs for his family. Above all, Sam valued his time spent with his family. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Kathleen of Kearney; sons, Phillip Palazzola and his wife, Renae of Gibbon, and Paul Palazzola of Kearney; daughter, Lisa Henderson and her husband, William of Kearney; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Anotonina Weidmann of Bullshoals, AR; two sisters-in-law, Linda Dincin and her husband, Paul of Rio Rancho, NM, and Brenda Williamson and her husband, Jay of Desert Hot Springs, California; along with many other relatives and friends.
