Arnold D. Sivils Kearney Resident Arnold D. Sivils, 83, of Kearney, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019 at CHI Health-Good Samaritan Hospital. Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church in Kearney. The Rev.

Nancy Tuma will officiate. Inurnment will be at the Arlington Cemetery in Arlington, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church in Kearney.

Arnold Delaney Sivils was born on November 20, 1935 in Arlington, Kansas to William “Bill” and Willa Mae (Arnold) Sivils. He received his education from Arlington High School, graduating with the class of 1953. Arnold earned a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Wichita State University, and a Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Arnold taught music theory, piano, and organ at Kearney State College and the University of Nebraska-Kearney for 35 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Kearney where he was an organist for many years. He also played the organ at First United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Kenny Sivils and his wife, Ernestine of Partridge, Kansas; sister, Marky Kempton and her husband, Bill of Eureka, California; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Willena Lander, Dona Kaufman, Lois Gutherie and Cleo Oliphant. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Arnold D.
