Steven Engen, 63 Kearney resident Steven W. Engen, 63, of Kearney died Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at First Lutheran Church in Kearney with Rev. Dr. Rick Carlson and Rev.

Dr. Michelle Holley Carlson officiating. Burial will follow at the Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 -7:00 p.m. Tuesday at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney.

osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services. Steve was born September 22, 1955 in Fergus Falls, MN to Wilton “Bud” and Phyllis (Dobbs) Engen.

He graduated from Hankinson High School in North Dakota. Steve followed his dreams of helping others by attending chiropractic college at Logan University in Chesterfield, MO. Steve’s passion in life was to help others as much as he possibly could.

He practiced chiropractic care for over thirty years prior to his retirement. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, drag racing, going for rides in his Mustangs, fishing, playing the guitar, and was always learning. He was strong in his faith and had served in multiple positions at the church throughout the years.

He was also an active member of Gideons International. He will be remembered by the love he had for his family, all of his jokes and great sense of humor, his exceptional medical knowledge, and his willingness to drop everything to help anyone. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lisa Engen of Kearney; children, Jaden Engen and Tianna Engen of Kearney, Ashley Burch of Kearney, Grant Burch of Denver, CO, Denise Schlosser of Luverne, MN, Jackie (Mitch) Johnson of Northfield, MN, Bryce Engen of Rosemount, MN and Lindsey (Nash) Pherson of Rosemount, MN; 19 grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy (John) Pepsin of Moorhead, MN, and Penny (Charles) Krause of Hankinson, ND; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
