Marvin C. Kegley Kearney Resident Marvin C. Kegley, 87, of Kearney passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Kearney. Rev.

Alan Davis and Rev. Seung Park will officiate. Interment will follow at the Prairie Center Cemetery at Havens Chapel with military honors provided by American Legion Post #52 and VFW Post #759 in conjunction with the Nebraska National Guard Honors Team.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Marvin and Iola Kegley Haven’s Chapel Ball Scholarship. Condolences may be shared online at www.

osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services. Marvin C. Kegley was born on October 28, 1931 in Kearney to Ora C. and Nancy (Clark).

He received his education from Kearney High School graduating with the class of 1949. Marvin enlisted in the United States Army in 1953 and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1955.

On June 4, 1959 Marvin was united in marriage to Iola Jurgens in Holdrege and to this union three children were born: Janice, Lori and Carla. Marvin farmed his entire life. He was a member of Haven’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

His hobbies included exercising, visiting, singing in the choir and watching softball and baseball. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Janice Rauth and her husband, Gary of Golden, Colorado, Lori Altmaier and her husband, Keith and Carla Owen and her husband, Kenny, all of Kearney; grandchildren, Cassie Kuebler and her husband, Kyle, Megan Altmaier, Jarod Owen and Sydney Owen, all of Kearney; brothers, Glenn Kegley and his wife, Donna, Ron Kegley, and Gary Kegley and his wife, Jana, all of Kearney; sister-in-law, Eileen Kegley of Omaha; brother-in-law, Richard Jurgens and his wife, Lois of Holdrege; along with a host of other relatives and many friends. Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Iola; his parents; and brothers, Harvey Kegley and Keith Kegley; sister, Kathleen Coe; and sister-in-law, Jackie Kegley.
