Glen A. Duncan, 87 Kearney Resident Glen A. Duncan, 87, of Kearney passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Kearney Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Rev.

Jerry Schwarz and Rev. Seung Ho Park will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Prairie Center Cemetery at Haven’s Chapel in Rural Kearney with military honors provided by the American Legion Post #52 and VFW Post #759 in conjunction with the United States Marine Corps Honors Team.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Memorials are suggested to Haven’s Chapel United Methodist Church or the Prairie Center Cemetery. Condolences may be shared online at www.

osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services. Glen Allen Duncan was born on October 17, 1931 in rural Poole, Nebraska to Allen W. and Helen A. (Fisher) Duncan.

He received his education from Fairview District #110 School and Pleasanton High School graduating with the class of 1950. Glen served in the United States Marine Corp in 1952 where he was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. He proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1954.

On June 11, 1955 Glen was united in marriage to Helen Dobish and to this union four children were born: Glenda, Vaughn, Sharlyn and Deloris. He was a lifetime resident of Buffalo County and was the recipient of an AKSARBEN Century Farm Award. Glen spent most of his life farming and raising livestock, his true passion was cattle.

Glen was a member of Haven’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Pleasanton School Board, Prairie Center Cemetery Board, ASCS/FSA Board, Coop Board, Haven’s Chapel Church Council, Township Board and he was a 4-H Leader. Glen enjoyed hunting, fishing and seeing things grow. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Helen of Kearney; children, Glenda Leithoff and fiancé, Randy Helms of Litchfield, Vaughn Duncan and his wife, Vicki of Gibbon, Sharlyn Sieck and her husband, Brent and Deloris Pittman and her husband, Daren, all of Martell, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lawrence Duncan and his wife, Karen of Kearney and Francis Duncan and his partner, Gene Spicher of Omaha; sister-in-law, Shirley Duncan of Scottsbluff; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
