Samuel’s Obituary Sam Davis, age 85, of Georgetown, departed this life on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at his home. Born on March 26, 1933 in Tullahoma to the late Mordacai and Deanna Creek Davis he had lived the majority of his life in Bradley County and was a member of Elkmont Baptist Church. Sam proudly served his country in the Army serving both in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam.

He was retired from Olin Chemicals and enjoyed farming, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rena Mae Collins Davis; son Randy Davis; and several siblings. Sam is survived by his daughter, Cindy(Dale) Bradford of Georgetown; grandson that Sam raised, Greg Davis of Georgetown; grandchildren, Angela Gibson of Cleveland , Cole Hyde of Meigs County, and Jason Davis of Decatur; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Chloe, Travis, Dru, Dylan, and Brian; great-great- grandchild, Laikyn; nephew who he raised, Jackie Collins; siblings, Jesse(Betty) Davis Georgetown, Addie(Billy) Younglood of Chattanooga, and Carl(Peggy) Davis of Georgia.

Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family also survive. A Celebration of Life and Home going for Sam Davis will be held at 2p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2019 from the Grissom Memorial Chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Brother Johnny Hood officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Jason Davis, Greg Davis, Bailey Davis,Travis Davis, Cole Hyde, and Dustin Sharits serving as active pallbearers and his granddaughter Angela Gibson and two great-grandsons Dylan Gibson and Dru Gibson serving as honorary pallbearers.
