Samuel Jack Burton “Sam” Petty, 31, Hammond, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018. Sam was born October 10, 1986, in Vincennes, the son of Samuel B. Petty and Anna Marie (Jackson) and Mike Fox. He worked in construction for John C. Ruiz Roofing in Munster, IN.

Sam is survived by his mother, Anna (Mike) Fox of Oaktown; father, Samuel Petty; sister, Victoria “Tori” Petty of Oaktown; brothers, Michael Jason (Jill) Fox of Freelandville, Eric (Kelli) Fox of Evansville and Cory (Crystal) Moreland of Bicknell, IN; paternal step-grandmother, Phylis Fox-Walker of Vincennes; other much loving family, nieces and nephews, Audrey and Tucker Bahr, Shyla and Justin Fox, Mason Spangle, Hunter, Blaize, Makenna and Bryley Fox, and Kaizen Moreland; many much loving aunts and uncles; and close cousins, Aimee Adcock, Billy and Daniel Burress, Andrea Jackson, Justin O’Pell, and numerous other cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Louis and Ruth Jackson; paternal grandparents, Jack and Leota “Connie” Petty; sister, Kyla Fox; paternal step-grandfathers, Raymond Fox and Richard Walker; and cousin, Erin “Sis” Smith. A private visitation will be held and will be cremated following.
