Ralph Everett Davidson, Sr. 84 years old of Bicknell, Indiana died on September 10, 2018 in Greencastle, Indiana after suffering a stroke. He was born December 24, 1933 to Clarence James Davidson, Sr. and Beulah Mae (Kelsey) Davidson in Bicknell, Indiana. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force serving in the USAF Honor and Color Guard stationed in Landstuhl and Weisbaden, German – post WWII peacekeeping duty.

After that tour, he returned to the states and reenlisted for four more years. He was stationed in Orlando, Florida and Washington, D.C. He was a member of the Presidential Honor Guard at Andrews Air Force Base during the presidency of Dwight Eisenhower from September 1958 until 1961.

Upon returning to Indiana, he began his 30 year career at RCA Manufacturing Company in Bloomington. While employed with RCA he joined the Indiana National Guard and completed 20 years of military service and was honorably discharged as Sgt. 1st Class.

He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was a skilled carpenter and handyman. He loved fishing and hunting from a young age.

He spent his retirement in Fremont, IN enjoying fishing and boating on the many lakes in the area. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Beulah Davidson; sister Bertha Davidson; brother Clarence Davidson, Jr.; two sons, Ralph E. Davidson, Jr. and James E. Davidson; and granddaughter, Alicia Hope Davidson. He is survived by a son, Donald E. Davidson of Nashville, TN and a daughter Mrs. Peggy (Steve) Redmond of Brownsburg; grandchildren Amanda Davidson, Michael Rogers, Erica, Mitchel and Holly Redmond; as well as five great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Ricky Davidson.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Bicknell Memorial Cemetery. Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.
