Maria Luise (Reber) Jones, 95, Bicknell, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 at the Freelandville Community Home. Maria was born August 2, 1923, in Mannheim, Germany, the daughter of Karl and Johanna (Kaufhold) Reber. She married Robert Jones on March 15, 1948.

Maria came to the U.S. in August 1952. She pursued her citizenship, and was proud to be an American. She eventually reunited with her sister, Charlotte, and brother, Bernard, and families.

She worked at Vincennes University in the admissions office for 20 years. She was a member of the Bicknell First Christian Church. Maria is survived by her children, Jeanette (Paul) Johnston of Wilmington, DE, Theresia (Randy) Barrett of Freelandville, Roberta (Craig) Meltz of Cedar Rapids, IA, Mildred (Robert) Keller of Merced, CA and John (Sheryl) Jones of Vincennes; brother, Bernard (Elizabeth) Lefson of Santa Rosa, CA; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Jones on March 27, 1968; her brother, Karl H. Reber; and sister, Charlotte Tabor. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel with Pastor Ron Barnes officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until time of service also at the funeral home.
