Sandra’s Obituary Sandra A. Grunst, age 82, of North Mankato, formerly of Nicollet, died Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living in North Mankato. Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet, with Pastor Dan Witte officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. Monday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet. Visitation will continue from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. To leave an online condolence, or to sign the guestbook, please visit: www.

mvfh.org Sandra is survived by her husband, Edward Grunst of Nicollet; her daughters, Kim Stevensen, Kelly (Ted) Lewis, and Kari (Jeremy) Arndt, all of Nicollet; sons, Edward “Butch” (Tia) of North Mankato, Tom (Anita), and Mike, both of Nicollet; nine grandchildren, Elijah, Tyler, Makenzie, Mikayla, Madison, Maleah, Jayden, Marisa, and Morgan; step-grandchildren, Andy, Brandi, and Nicholas; a brother, Keith “Skeeter” (Mary) Kettner of New Ulm; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Scott Stevensen; and an infant brother, Gary. Sandra Ann Kettner was born on January 1, 1937 on the family farm in Granby Township to Ervin & Helen (Krohn) Kettner.

She graduated from Nicollet High School in 1954. Sandra then attended Bethany Lutheran College. She was united in marriage to Edward Grunst on July 25, 1959 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet.

Sandra started her career at the Nicollet Creamery, and also worked at Marigold, waitressed at Holiday House, Kettner’s Café/Korner, and at Nicollet Café, KNUJ Radio, and the Young America Corporation. When she was not working, Sandra enjoyed playing bingo, cards, dining out, and dancing. Sandra especially treasured all the family vacations, children and grandchildren activities, holiday get togethers, and going for breakfast with friends and family.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, blessed be her memory. Sandra’s family wishes to express special thanks to the Benedictine Living Center, Oak Terrace Assisted Living, and Mayo Hospice.
