Sandra Kay Walker, 68, of Fallston, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Born in Cleveland County on September 4, 1950, she was the daughter of Delbert Quillen Walker and Zena Lucy Pruitt Walker. Sandra was a graduate of Burns High School, obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Western Carolina University and a Master of Science Degree in Plant Pathology from NC State University.

She enjoyed reading, cross stich,… Read More » guilting and was a member of the Sassy Red Delights a Red Hat Society, and Fallston Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, choir member and served on various committees. Sandra was employed as a plant pathologist with the United State Department of Agriculture, Seed Regulatory and Testing Branch, Gastonia. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother Keith Walker.

She is survived by her two nieces, Jamie Cook & husband Chris and Jessica Walker both of Fallston great-nephew, Michael Cook; a sister-in-law, Cheri Walker of Fallston, cousins, Linda Johnson, Sheila Martin, Gerald Sailors, Randy Sailors, Terry Sailors, Jerry Pruitt, Viola Queen, Hugh Lee Ivester and several Walker cousins. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Fallston Baptist Church. A celebration of life service will be held at 3:30 PM at Fallston Baptist Church with the Rev.
