Sandra K. Anderson Holland went home to be with the Lord December 30, 2018 at SECU Hospice House in Forest City, NC. “Sandy” was born August 21, 1950 to her loving father and mother, the late Ruth Rector and Joe B. Anderson. Also preceding her in death were her father- and mother-in-law Lucille Reynolds and Gene Holland.

Sandy was born and raised in McDowell County, and was a 1968 graduate of Marion High School. She was married shortly after high school to the love of her life, Grayson, and worked at Clinchfield Mill and Marion Manufacturing. She was blessed to be a stay at home wife and Aunt.

She enjoyed being with her family and had many blessed years with them. Working outside in her yard was also one of her favorite pastimes. Grayson and Sandy were able to travel and went on many vacations out west which they enjoyed very much.

She was a member of Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church for many years. During her courageous battle with cancer, her strength and hope came from the Lord. His grace and presence never failed.

Left behind to cherish her memories, in addition to her beloved husband of 49 years, Grayson Holland, are brother-in-law Wayne Holland and his wife, Susan Gaddis Holland, Sandy’s sister and best friend for many years, beloved niece, Amanda K. Holland Collins and husband, Joshua Collins and great-nephew, Jacob Grayson Collins, who was her joy, brother-in-law Max Holland and wife, Sandy, nephew Eugene Holland and wife, Gina, great-niece Lauren Holland, a brother, Leonard Anderson and wife Gerry of Simpsonville, SC, niece, Leslie Anderson Cline and husband, Paul, great-nephew, Declan Cline, nephew, Christopher Anderson, and special friends and neighbors, Gloria and Leroy Stevenson, and Cecil and Linda Comer. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Alan Sailors officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at www. stjude.org/give.
