William Ray Allen, age 68, of Nebo, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at his home with his loving wife by his side. William was native of Yancey County, born on August 18, 1950 to the late John Allen and Marjorie Allen. He attended Nebo Crossing, and was a devoted Christian who loved God.

He also had a passion for cars and trucks, especially fast cars. William always appreciated a good western, and enjoyed fishing when he could. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife who he loved deeply, Susan Souther Allen of 38 years; his mother, Marjorie Allen; a sister, Tonya Ray of Burnsville; and several nieces & nephews, including a special great-nephew, Austin Gouge of Nebo.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 2:00 pm with Rev Bob Ritter officiating. Interment will follow the service in Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery.
