Lora Honeycutt, age 52, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville. She was born in Marion on August 6, 1966 to the late D.C. Carroll and Shelby Jean Burnette Carroll. Was formerly employed at Brown’s Mfg.

Her husband, Charles David Honeycutt, preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, David Honeycutt of Marion; a sister, Jean Carroll and husband Ronald Burleson; and two grandchildren, Caleb and Kaylen Honeycutt. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the family at PO Box 247, Marion, NC 28752. Her loving son David remembers her thusly: “Dear Mom in Heaven, Mom I know you’re flying high watching down over me. I sit here and ponder how very much I’d like to talk to you today.

There are so many things that we didn’t get to say. I know how much you care for me and how much I care for you and each time that I think of you I know you’ll miss me too. An angel came and took you by the hands and said your place was ready in Heaven far above… And you had to leave behind all those you dearly loved.

You had so much to live for, you had so much to do… It seems impossible that God was taking you and though your life on Earth is past, in Heaven it starts anew. You’ll live for all eternity just as God had promised you and though you walked through Heaven’s Gate, we are never far apart, for every time I think of you, you’re right here, deep within my heart”.
