Univea Ledford Dale , July 24, 1936 — February 07, 2019

Univea Ledford Dale, age 82, of Old Fort, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center in Asheville following a period of declining health. A native of Yancey County, she was born on July 24, 1936, the tenth, and last surviving, of twelve children born to the late Mack Ledford and Naomi Honeycutt Ledford. Univea was a devoted Christian and loving mother but she was also a friend to many and was always there for those in need.

She was a member of the Non-Denominational Church of God Holiness and was retired from Sara Lee Knit Products. Surviving are two children, Debra Benge and husband Jerry of Marion and Lark Prindle of Old Fort; two grandchildren, Alecia Taylor and Gregory Benge; a great-grandson, Jace Taylor; and a special niece, Rochelle Hunt. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at the Non-Denominational Church of God Holiness with Rev.

Bill Mitchell and Rev. Don Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Memorials may be mad to the Hospice organization of one’s choice.
