Melanie Kim Moore, age 62, of Old Fort, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at her home. A native of Miami, Florida, Kim was born on October 31, 1956 to the late Paul Kenneth Moore and Wanda Jo Davis Moore. Kim was a beautiful soul who enjoyed the simple things of life such as going for a ride in the car, listening to music or just enjoying a good cold Pepsi.

She also loved to watch the Hallmark Channel and The Golden Girls re-runs. She was feisty, but underneath it all she was very sweet and conveyed her love for those she cared for in no uncertain terms. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Kim leaves behind an adopted family who loved her dearly, including her caregivers Beth Taylor and Tommy of Old Fort, Katelyn Elliott, Wanda Kee, Jennifer Watts, Shelly Burrell, Timmy Deweese, and T.J. and Mark Taylor, as well as her brother, David Moore. A service to celebrate her life will take place on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Service in Old Fort with Rev. Robert Reynolds officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Community Cemetery. Memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice McDowell at 575 Airport Road, Marion, NC 28752.
