Etta Wise Piercy McKinney, age 92, of Marion, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Mission Hospital-McDowell with her family by her side. A native of Mitchell County, Etta was born on October 30, 1926 to the late Dave and Maude Burleson Wise. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Allen Piercy; second husband, Avery McKinney; one daughter, Mary Lou Piercy; one sister, Lora Miller and three brothers, Ray, Wayne and Delmar Wise.

Etta enjoyed crocheting and gardening. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Left to cherish her memories are her children, David Piercy, Dwight McKinney, Dianne Branch (Gary), Rinda Piercy, Martha Piercy (Chip Johnson), Wanda Carpenter (Robert), Angela LaNasa (Joe), Betty Cole (Denny) and Myril Wilson (Donald); one brother, Velmar Wise and one sister, Earlene Grindstaff.

Also surviving Etta is her five grandchildren, Suzanne Calhoun (Mike), Katelyn LaNasa, Kelly Smith, Chris Corbett and Kyle LaNasa; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Haley Calhoun and several nieces and nephews. A private service will be held at a later date.
