Sarah Alban January 26, 1922 – December 26, 2018 Sarah Ann Parisi Alban passed away peacefully with her family by her side December 26, 2018, one month short of her 97th birthday. Born in Rockford, IL to Errico Parisi and Carmela Balistrari of Aragona, Sicily. Predeceased by her husband Steven Richard Alban (Albanese), from Bridgeport, Conn.

where they met. Sarah was from a large loving family being the second to the youngest and last to pass of eight brothers and sisters: Sam Paris, Christina Manzullo, Dom Paris, Joe Paris, Mary Benico, Rose Bordonaro, and Peter Paris. Sarah had two years of secretarial school where she developed her bookkeeping and accounting skills.

Even though her father wanted her to become a music teacher, Sarah pursued her career in book keeping at Whitehead Realtors for 18 years, only to retire when her angels; Angelica and Allegra were born. Losing her husband young she always said her granddaughters filled a void in her life. Also, Sarah worked in the china department at Bergners which she loved especially the coworkers.

Sarah had many interests. She belonged to the National Foresters League. She won a gardening award for her flowers.

She was an avid reader, and crossword puzzle enthusiast. She loved movies and playing Bridge. Sarah was also a political committee woman.

Sarah was an excellent Italian cook. The most precious of life to Sarah was her family and her dog. She loved Gino who was her faithful companion for 11 yrs and never left her side.

Her children and granddaughters and great granddaughter were her life. She taught them unconditional love. Born: January 26, 1922 Death: December 26, 2018 Sarah is survived by her children: Susan Alban Sunday, Steven Richard Alban, Jr. and Camilla June Alban.

Her granddaughters Angelica Jade Alban Davila, (Sergio), Allegra Amber Alban Sunday, and precious great granddaughter and namesake who gave her unsurpassed pleasure in the last year of her life, Serafina Rose Davila. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins. A special thank you to faithful and talented caregiver, Beryl Tucker and to OSF Hospice and her nurse Lori Montana.

Funeral mass will be at 11AM on Monday, December 31, 2018 at St. Anthony Church with Franciscan Friars officiating. Visitation will be from 10AM until service time at the church. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
