Sarah Lucille Jepson , March 24, 1933 — May 13, 2018

Sarah “Lucille” Jepson Sarah “Lucille” Jepson, age 85, of rural Green Castle, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center. Born on March 24, 1933 in rural Yarrow, Missouri, she was the daughter of Everett Dale and Leland Alta (Ivie) Young. On March 2, 1968, Lucille was united in marriage to Donald Richard Jepson, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons; Larry Ray and wife Monika (Niewczas) Jepson of Slidell, Louisiana, Gary Lee and wife Linda (Clarkson) Jepson of rural Green Castle; four grandsons and one granddaughter; Ryan, Emma, Lukas, Daniel, and Samuel; and one sister-in-law Dorothy (Eaton) Young. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Wayne Young.

Lucille received her education in the Mt. Zion rural school and Kirksville public schools. She received her college education from the Northeast Missouri State Teachers College during the early 1950’s, now named Truman State University.

She was employed as a schoolteacher in the LaPlata and Unionville School districts prior to marriage. She retired from teaching to raise her twin sons Gray and Larry on the Jepson family farm. She also enjoyed keeping a garden each year and raising chickens.

She had an interest in family research as one of her hobbies and loved spending time with her grandchildren. For most of her married life she enjoyed life on the farm. The last few years she had been in progressively declining health.

A memorial service honoring the life of Lucille will be held 6:00 P.M., Friday, May 18, 2018 at the Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City, Missouri. A private inurnment will be at a later date. A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M., Friday evening until the time of service.
