Scott W. Dunlop, 61, of Moline, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at his home. Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2019, at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd., Moline. A celebration of life gathering will follow visitation at 2 p.m., Sunday, at the Wunder-Y, Moline.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (Midwest affiliate) or QC Paws. Scott was born on February 7, 1957 in Moline, the son of William Dunlop III and Louise (Falk) Dunlop. He was a self-employed accountant with Dunlop Tax Service for 30 years.

Scott was an avid sports fan with a special affinity for the Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks, and he also followed March Madness. He loved to play picks, collect pins, cars and lighters, and tumbling and polishing his rocks. But most of all he adored his dog, Bismarck, who he lovingly called his best companion.

He was always the life of the party. Survivors include his sister, Theresa (John) Helgason; nieces, Andrea Jones, Amie Mills, Wendi Riecke, Brandi Boyer; six great nieces and nephews; two uncles, an aunt, many cousins and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog, Dakota.
