Obituary for Scott Thornton It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our brother Scott, after a long hard battle against COPD, passing away peacefully on Saturday, October 20, 2018 in the Kobacher House, under the tender care of Ohio Health Hospice. He grew up in the wonderful little town of Dublin, OH. Scott was a professional truck driver for 38 years; affording him the opportunity to travel all over the country; making friends everywhere he went.

Anyone who knew him loved his sense of humor, orneriness, passion of sports, and the generosity he shared. Scott’s passions were his family, friends, children, animals (especially dogs), fishing, and playing golf. He was a giver…a heart of gold!

He was “SANTA CLAUS! ! ” Scott is survived by his brother; David (Linda) Thornton of Troy, MI, sister; Chris (Jim) Massengale of Cincinnati, OH, brother; Ric (Liz) Thornton of Lewis Center, OH, and sister; Libby (Mark) Trucco of Delaware, OH, nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Ed and Helen Thornton and step-mother, Grace McBride Thornton. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 2-4 PM, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life Service in the Rutherford at Powell Funeral Home, 450 West Olentangy Street, Powell, OH 43035. While flowers are appreciated and welcomed, memorial contributions can be made, if desired, to the following organizations: Ohio Health Hospice 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus, OH 43214; Delaware County Humane Society 4920 OH-37, Delaware, OH 43015; People in Need 138 Johnson Drive, Delaware, OH 43015.
