Scout’s Obituary Scout Reese McCauley was one of the most majestic, magical, insightful, creations in the history of the universe. Her father Gabriel, mother Mandy, and brother Ash McCauley love her with a fire that will never be quenched. Scout loved her grandparents Gary and Nancy McCauley, and Cynthia and Michael Crabtree so very, very much.

Scout had so many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that she adored. The moment Scout made her debut to this world on March 28th, 2009 she started teaching all the people she came in contact with how to love better, harder, and deeper than they could have ever imagined. She is light, she is strength, she is bravery, she is kindness, she is joy, she is love, she is courage, she is one of the hardest, best gifts that could have ever been given and she will remain so, always.

On January 5th, 2019, her parents spoke those words over her and thanked her for letting them be her parents as she passed on into her next great adventure. Scout was looking forward to one day having conversations with Daniel who spent the night in a lions den, Jesus (the lion of Judah), and also sleeping/cuddling with lions. We believe she’s enjoying those amenities heaven has to offer now.

We all just hoped it wouldn’t be this soon. In her nine years, Scout lived a big, bold life; she was wise beyond her years, compassionate and creative. Her eyes told a million stories of her adventures.

Lover of all things lion, this brave little one would light up any room she walked into. Her cuddles would take all of the world’s worries away. One time Scout’s mom, Mandy asked her Dad, Gabe if he thought miracles still happen today.

Scout grabbed her mother’s face, put her lips to her mother’s ear and said, “Mom, I am your miracle”.
