Sharon K. Smith, 70, Carthage, MO, passed away Wednesday evening, April 18, 2018 at her home. Sharon Kay West was born August 24, 1947 in Chetopa, KS to the late Roy West and Lenora Downs. Sharon attended Carthage Schools growing up.

She worked as part owner of Kenny’s Furniture Store in Joplin. Sharon married Kenneth W. Smith; he preceded her in death on July 13, 1993. She was a member of the Central Assembly Church in Joplin.

McGoyne (Heather), Joplin, MO; three brothers, Ray West (Doris), Avilla, MO, Charles West, Webb City, MO, and Willie West, Avilla, MO; three sisters, Wanda Clark, Joplin, MO, Jeannie West, Wichita, KS, and Mary Caballero (Joe), Carl Junction, MO; eight grandchildren, Aryelle Smith, Kenneth Smith, Alex Smith, Marshall Wood (Rachel), Marleigh Wood, Joseph Marshall, Dacy Crockett, and Dage Crockett; and four great grandchildren, Annabella Grace Abel, Greyson Wood, Eleanor Wood, and Gavyn Wood. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one daughter, Bonnie Annette Smith. Memorial services will be held 7 pm, Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Apostolic Revival Church, 1122 Illinois Ave, Joplin, MO 64801.

Pastor Nathan J. Roberts will officiate. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed through www.
