Shelley Murphy, 78, of North Port, FL, passed away on February 26, 2017, in her sleep. She was born on June 28, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY to Sally and Max Kunofsky. Shelley attended Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn and graduated in 1956.

She worked as a clerk for Publix for 10 years. She enjoyed bingo, spending time with friends and going fishing with her husband, Walter. She was involved with the Elks Lodge and the Holy Name Society.

She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Walter Murphy; sister, Mariyln (Bruce) Yukelson; sons, Jeffery (Rachel) Fleischman, Steven (Bianca) Fleischman, Gregg (Angela) Fleischman and Andrew (Dara) Fleischman; step son, Billy (Diane) Murphy; step daughters, Annie Minchew, Katherine Guncsaga, Patricia (Alfred) Bable, Linda (William) Butchart, Crystal Murphy and Lisa Murphy; 32 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sally and Max Kunofsky; husband, Arthur Fleischman, step son, Albert Murphy, grandson, Ryan Hyon and her great grandson, Collin James Gillespie. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM on Friday, March 3, 2017 at McKee Funeral Home, 14538 Tamiami Trail, North Port, FL.
