Sherran Dee Higley Keele, 82, passed away March 19, 2019 in Mona, Utah at the home of her daughter. She was born in Sugar City, Idaho July 3, 1936 to Phyllis Wardle and Clyde Dewey Higley. Sherran was a devoted wife to Earl Jay Keele.

They were married in Pocatello, Idaho on November 27, 1955 and later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. Sherran and Earl raised five children while living in Oregon. Their retirement years were spent living in North Pole, Alaska, and more recently Mona, Utah.

Sherran was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had many church callings through the years such as young women’s president, early-morning seminary teacher, gospel doctrine teacher, chorister, pianist and family history instructor. She enjoyed working on family history, music, jewelry, and spending time with her family. She could always be seen reading a favorite book or completing a crossword.

She had a love for travel and history. Sherran was a loving mother and grandmother who would happily smother her loved ones with hugs and kisses. Her arms were open to all who came to know her as she was a great communicator who would listen and readily offer her wisdom.

Sherran is survived by her husband of 63 years, Earl Jay Keele, her brother Geoffrey “Kip” (Kay) Higley of Roseburg, Oregon; her children Shawna Kay Keele Schnurr (Rick), Leslie Ann Keele Pascual (Alfonso), Annette Clydene Keele Farnsworth, Anthony Clay Keele (Laura), 20 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. Sherran was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Lorin Higley and Tracey Higley, daughter Melody Lynn Keele Mattingly (Thomas) and granddaughter Kandice Marie Mattingly. At Sherran’s request, a graveside service will be held March 23, 2019 at 1:30 pm in the Groveland Cemetery, 426 West 200 North, Blackfoot, Idaho.

Immediately following the service, there will be a no-host gathering at the Homestead Restaurant, 1355 S. Parkway Drive, Blackfoot, Idaho. Condolences may be sent to the family at PO Box 70, Mona, UT 84645.
