Shirlee’s Obituary Shirlee Ann Baughman, 76, of Colony, Wyoming died March 13, 2019 at her home. She was born October 28, 1942 in Greenlee County, Arizona to Robert and Inez Landrum. Shirlee started a family in Iowa and married and had 3 children, Babbette, Lisa and Stacie.

The family moved to Alaska in 1966 from Hobbs, New Mexico and lived there until 1972. She moved to California, then to Colorado and Montana before ending up back in Alaska. It was in Alaska where she met up again with a longtime love, Sonny Baughman.

The couple married October 10, 1981 and were happy to finally be together the rest of their lives. While in Alaska she managed Inez’s Western Wear. She and Sonny were committed to promoting rodeo on the Kenai Peninsula where they made their home.

They traveled to rodeos in many parts of Alaska where Shirlee enjoyed barrel racing and some calf roping. They were instrumental in organizing Play Days in Alaska. Events included barrels, poles, stick horse races, flag races, steer roping, goat tying and mounted ring toss.

They moved to Colony, WY following Sonny’s retirement in 1986 and lived out their lives there. Shirlee enjoyed her flower gardens and in her earlier years making pottery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Inez Landrum; husband, Sonny Baughman in 2012 and sisters, Helen Chenault and Wilma Williams.

She is survived by her daughters, Babbette (Thomas) Edlund of Arvada, CO, Lisa (John) Wyatt of Lakewood, CO and Stacie (Del) Rehling of Rapid City; her sister, Linda (Murdock) Williams of Rome, GA and her brother, Charles (Carolyn) Landrum of Hobbs, NM; grandchildren, Brandon (Lyndsy) Richie, Abigail Richie, Camron (Krista) Millspaugh, Mallory Millspaugh, Lindsay Millspaugh, Carmin (Chad) Vaugn and Mercedes Nienhaus; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 19 at 11:00 AM at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with Reverend Tim Smith officiating. She will be buried with her husband Sonny.
