SHIRLEY FAYE WALKER LACY, GILBERT, SC (1935-2019) SHIRLEY ANSWERED GOD’S CALL TO COME HOME MAY 23, 2019. BORN IN ROGERSVILLE, ALABAMA JULY 25, 1935 TO JESSE ERTIS WALKER AND EULA MARIE FELKER WALKER. SHE IS THE FOURTH ELDEST OF 12 CHILDREN.

SHE IS PREDECEASED BY HER LOVING HUSBAND OF 61 YEARS, PERRY GENE LACY, SON WILLIAM CLINTON LACY, DAUGHTERS TRACEI EMM LACY ORTIZ, DEBORAH JEAN LACY, and GRANDSON ANTHONY CHARLES LACY. SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER DAUGHTER PATRICIA LACY HAMBY, GRANDCHILDREN, JOHN STEWART (CATHERINE), MELODY STEWART, MICHAEL MCGUINNESS, JASON LACY, BRITTENY CUNNINGHAM (KIRVEN), MEGAN LACY AND TEN GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN, FOUR SISTERS, ONE BROTHER, AND SEVERAL NEICES AND NEPHEWS. SHIRLEY OR NANNY LACY AS SHE IS KNOWN BY HER GRAND CHILDREN, HAD A HEART OF GOLD.

SHE WAS A HOUSEWIFE AND HOMEMAKER WHO DEARLY LOVED HER CHILDREN, ESPECIALLY THE LITTLE ONES MAKING SURE THERE WAS AN ABUNDANCE OF DRINKS AND GOODIES ON HAND. SHE NEVER ALLOWED ANYONE TO GO HUNGRY, SO DIETING WAS NOT AN OPTION AT HER HOUSE. ANYONE WHO ENTERED HER HOME WAS MADE TO FEEL SPECIAL AND VERY WELCOMED.

MOTHER WAS A GENTLE, LOVING, AND GIVING SOUL WITH A CHARITABLE SPIRIT WHO WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY ALL. SHE PUT OTHERS BEFORE HERSELF CHERISHING HER FAMILY. HER LAST DAYS WERE SPENT CONCERNED FOR OTHERS INSISTING, SHE DID NOT WANT TO BURDEN THEM.

OUR HEARTS ARE HURTING BUT FILLED WITH BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES AND SOME MIGHTY BIG SHOES TO FILL. WE LOVE YOU AND WILL MISS YOU DEARLY, MOTHER. OUR ONLY CONSOLATION IS KNOWING THAT WE WILL BE WITH YOU ONE DAY AND THAT YOU ARE NO LONGER SUFFERING BUT WILL BE GIVEN A BEAUTIFUL NEW BODY FREE FROM PAIN.

ALL THE ANGELS AND SAINTS, FAMILY AND FRIENDS WILL BE THERE TO GREET YOU AND WELCOME YOU HOME. TILL WE MEET AGAIN YOU’LL REMAIN FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS. MEMORIAL SERVICE DETAILS TO BE ANNOUNCED.
